Agree with the above and we’re taking 2nd child who will be 5 months old out late April.
It’s much easier when they are under 6-7 months, once they start to crawl you struggle to keep them in the buggy! Defo do it! |

I would agree with what everyone else has said. We took DS at 4 months and DD at 15 months. It was much easier to cope with a baby than a toddler.

Our four month old grandson has just left here and he was a dream even in Disney. Only problem was he went asleep for the night around 6pm so was in his buggy and straight to his cot. You will enjoy it.

We’re planning to take our little one in March 2020 when she will be 7 months - some people think we are mad but it will make us happy which hopefully in turn will make her happy!

We went indirect with our 8 month old in 2016. We used one of those V-pillow things to let him sleep/lie/feed on our laps, did the trick for us. Absolutely no issues and the airline(Icelandair) were great.

We travelled with a 6 week old (and a 3 year old, 5 year old and 7 year old!) and the 6 week old was the easiest of all of them!
6 month old will be more than fine. |

We traveled with our son when he was 4 months. Indirect flight which was ok and August heat which we managed well. We got a small fan for the pushchair and he just slept when needed.
We weren’t put off and went back when he was 7months. Was a just as easy. Not sure sure going back in April when he is 12months as he is mobile now but it’s only the flight that’s a worry and that’s 8hrs that we can cope with (famous last words). My advice do it!

BA has an advantage with older infants as they have a britax chair as well as the sky cot. It goes on the same platform. The sky cot may not work for a 6 month old as they may be too big but the chair works a lot longer we used it at 15 months. Also BA allows everyone in the party to book seats for free so you can book by the infant places to keep together.
None of this infant plus 1 adult only nonsense used by other airlines. IMHO none of the others( Virgin TUI TC Norwegian) are as child friendly as this with infants. They win by a mile once they are too big for a sky cot. Virgin need to up their game. This shows the britax seat at the end of the short video. Worth its wait in gold once they outgrow the skycot. |

You can also take your own car seat on virgin flights as well I think. Obviously don’t want them sat in it for 9 hours but good for a kip or two!

We are taking our 3 month old, our 11 year old who is in a wheelchair and our 15 year old.
It’s going to be a challenge juggling a wheelchair and a pram with a newborn but I can think of no place I would rather do it 😊 |
