Hollywood studios & Animal kingdom
Hi everyone! Coming to Florida in May and we only have a 2 day park hopper ticket with Disney! Using the first day and evening at Epcot, then plan to spend morning at Hollywood studios and afternoon/evening at Animal kingdom... how possible do you think this will be based on my itinerary in the image? We are 2 adults. If we have to sacrifice some rides that will be ok, and if anyone has suggestions for alterations please let me know! Thank you! |

We have done 2 parks in a day quite easily before. The thing that jumps out at me though depends on where you are staying. Fastpasses for flight of passage go very fast and you generally need to be booking them at over 60 days away so you might struggle to get some unless you are staying on site for a few days.

Thanks for that fizzypop! We aren’t staying on site and probably being optimistic about getting those fast passes... would you swap the itinerary around? And get to animal kingdom for opening instead for a better chance of those rides? The head to Hollywood studios and see the night time show there instead?

I think either way you might have trouble getting fastpasses for flight of passage or slinky dog and the queues will probably be busy. I can’t book fastpasses for another couple of months and am onsite for a week. Looking at what fastpasses are available 65 days from today as I am trying to get an idea as to what order to do the parks in, my choices already look like they will be limited for those 2 rides.
I would probably consider which ride I want to do more, either flight of passage or slinky dog and get to that park for opening making sure it isn’t an extra magical hours morning, and head straight to that ride. I would then try and fit everything else in. |

Unfortunately I think you are being hugely optimistic. We literally could only get three rides in AK and HS on our recent trip and that was with 60 day fast passes for each. You would have luck on your side to do all that in one day.

Would we have a chance of getting the fast passes for the Hollywood studios rides such as tower of terror, rock n rolla? Perhaps we should go to AK early morning, get on the pandora rides, kilamanjaro safari, and Everest, then head to Hollywood studios? We’re just trying to make the most of both parks because of our hopper ticket and get on the best rides?
I appreciate your help and honesty! |

Don’t underestimate the queue times. You could well be queuing for 2 hours each for both pandora rides and slinky dog so that is 6 hours of you day used before you even consider the others.

Yes you make a really good point! Which park would typically have worse queues in the afternoon? If it’s animal kingdom I may swap round, because I think there is more rides we want to do there than HS? Sorry for all the questions!

Are these weekend days or middle of the week? That will make a huge difference to your queue time estimates.
Are you fussed about being together on roller coasters? RNR and EE both have single rider queues that go much faster. Especially with no fast pass for RNR, that could save you some serious time, but you may or may not wind up in the same ride photo, if it makes a difference to you. I think your list is optimistic but has potential with a bit of refining! |

In principle I think the morning at HS and the afternoon at AK seems sensible. I don’t know if you will get a fast pass for FOP but if you are happy to do the full day you could always get in line for FOP at closing (checking as last time I went it had an earlier closing than the park). It may mean missing rivers of light but I think it would be worth it.
It would give you the flexibility between what time you needed to leave HS studios as well. |
