God my DH would die if he had to go out and buy my tampax. He would never do that no matter what and we have been married nearly 30 years so it's not like it's something he doesn't know anything about 🙄.
I don't care I just pick what I want and find the shortest Q.

I was unwell a few weeks ago and DH had to go out and do a big shop on his own. (He’s a big boy - even remembered the bags)

He sent me a picture to tell me my favourite fanny pads were on offer and bought me home 4 packets!

The man loves a bargain

I think after I had my son (over 25yrs ago now) I stopped being embarrassed about anything! The numerous exams before during and after put paid to any embarrassment for anything

Except maybe the time I had a massive cold sore in France, went to a very packed chemist and had to ask the pharmacist (who happened to be male) for Zovirax... to which he then announced very loudly “ah le herpeees!” great, thanks... sounds much worse than a cold sore!

I have no problems with buying tampons. I am a fairly modern man. But apparently they're not a "proper" present. "Happy birthday, mum!"

cant beat a good Jimmy Carr joke

It’s never bothered me.

My husband will buy them. He also went and picked up my pregnancy test years ago when I was too ill to go.

Oh, and I sent him to the local shop for condoms on Saturday for our son as we had none left at home (other son took them to uni). He couldn’t care less what anyone thinks. Nor could I, I have picked up condoms for the older kids too, medication, sanitary products for dd.

It’s all normal, all natural and a part of life.

My friends wife broke both her wrists a few years ago and was in traction casts for more than three months. During that time he not only had to buy her products but also “ assist” her when using them.
He also had to be present for all her visits to the loo!
They couldn’t tell who was most traumatised by it

It was a long three months for both of them.

I’ve never had a problem buying them, my dad had 3 daughters plus my mum so he was a regular visitor to the chemist to buy us products, never bothered him. My dh will get me some if I run out, mine are terribly heavy so that often happens, and dd 13 started here 2 weeks ago and she’s very open with us so he will have to do the same for her. She’s not embarrassed about buying products, but I did take her to Asda the day it started and showed her down the aisle where you buy from and she was slightly bewildered by the amount of stuff on offer! It’s all a normal part of being a woman and not something to be embarrassed about imo.

Quite a few years ago my DD asked her then boyfriend to get her a pack of pads as he was going to Tesco with his mum, yes no problem he said. However once he got to the aisle selling them he chickened out and sent his mum off to pick a pack up with him standing at the end however his embarrassment was not avoided when his mum shouted to him "Does she have the ones with wings!"
