SVed up and went on kindoff honeymoon. We had booked a transfer, he meet us and said it was a teeny car, we said never mind it’s just us, took us to a limo, couldn’t believe it. Didn’t really want to even get it, felt so unworth it. Had a fab time

My son loved it in there and Jungle Jim’s which I think was at the Crossroads.

There was a restaurant ,I think called smorgasbord it was on 192 near to xanadu house of the future, where you paid for kids meals by the height of your child , I think for every inch of the child over a certain height you paid 10 cents or something.

I remember we convinced my mum to ride this as well! It made her so ill she couldn’t leave the room for 3 days! Pulled every muscle in her body and gave her whiplash 🙈

Did flights from Luton ever go direct to Florida (I seem to recall they did)?
We flew Luton to MCO in the 80s with a refuling stop in Bangor (Maine]

Flights were with Britannia

I don’t miss travellers cheques at all. What a pain! I don’t miss having to do the whole airport check in once at the airport. I don’t miss criss crossing the parks to pick up FP to facilitate a Touring Plan as now I can do it on the app sitting in my armchair or whilst in the park once there.

I remember buying a phone card at AKL and using the lobby phone to call home. (Still got it in my memory box). And the first time we went, buying a ticket bundle from a rep who came to the villa the first morning though we paid in £. (£200 pp for a 4 day WDW hopper, 1 day Seaworld, 1 day Universal, 1 day Busch and Wild Bill's dinner show thrown in. )

We first went in 1980, flew Freddie Laker I believe. Riding 20,000 leagues under the sea, which was my favourite ride. I remember the exchange rate being something like $2.40 to the £, but I also remember it being parity as well, in fact our hotel in Miami was doing 99¢ to the £.
