Questions about Virgin?

Hi all

we have just booked Virgin lights via Charter travel

We travel this october and we logged in to manage my booking yesterday and there are absolutley no seats together

We have 6 children, the oldest being 13 and the youngest 3

i spoke to someone and they said they will do what they can to sit us together but no promises

OH is a terrible lyer and has high anxiety, and is now panicking

has anyone had experience with virgin seats?

Thanks

So you should be able to prebook your seats now for October - I have been able to for September. If you've prebooked together then you should be OK but you just never know. They may have to move you for some reason so you may end up split. They however wont allow children under 10 I think it is to sit on their own they have to be "near" an adult in the party.

No advice but I would be amazed if at this far out there were not sufficient seats together, especially in the middle of the plane. You might have to pay for them but if this will give you piece of mind then it would be worth it.

You fly the first Saturday of October half term? It's likely to be a busy flight. I fly the day before you on the Friday and booked my seats a couple of months ago. You could try phoning Virgin.

I wouldn't. It's half term and people booking classic or delight fares can book seats for free as soon as they're released. We've had our seats booked since December for our October trip and the seat plan for our dates looks pretty full.

Yes, children can be directly next to, across the asile, behind or in front of an adult in the party.

OP, are there any sets of 2 together that would allow you to have an adult with each child?

Are you flying from Manchester or Gatwick?

Hi as others have said it’s a busy time so the seats could be booked. They will try to sit little kids under 10 near you as opposed to next to you BUT just also be aware that the 13 year old could be sat nowhere near you. I’m Not wanting to worry you but just want you to be prepared. I have a 13 year old who freaks at the thought of not being next to us and being seated with a stranger so we always pay the price. Your child may be more robust than ours...

I wouldn’t be surprised that there’s no seats left together to be honest. When we booked our outgoing flight as I purchased 4 seats in the bubble (3 & then a 1 across the row) someone else had just put through the same selection seconds before us so the first 3 got booked & the one on their own didn’t. Thankfully I booked them as soon as they came available that morning & got straight on the phone to Virgin who were able to move us all back a row so we’d be together again.

Fingers crossed VA are able to help you, even if you’re split into pairs. Does anyone in your family have any disabilities? Just if so I’d make VA aware of that as well as it may help as well as make a difference to where they sit you. Good luck! 😊

You’ll be fine then 😄

Seriously though, we booked seats together in PE with Virgin one year but still got separated at check in due to aircraft change apparently 😟
So nothing is guaranteed, but good luck to you.
