It takes around 2 hours from Highgate Park via I-4 and I-75 but the bit through Bradenton City (not Bradenton Beach) can slow you down in rush hour.

You reach the beach on SR 64 and see these lights in front of you. Straight over them and you're in the car park.

Right.. for the last few years for various reasons we have not been to AMI or any other great suggested locations for beaches, this year we have factored a lot of time for beaches as the kids are old and its simply easier now.

Ideally, i would like a remote, non commercial beach where we can park as close as possible to the beach.

Any further ideas -

Has anyone been here - goo.gl/maps/W1xvxH7oCypmNVqn9

many thanks

Fort de Soto is a beautiful beach to visit, we have been many times in the last few years.
It cost $5 to park, either at the little kiosk on the road in, or a machine at the end of the road.
Plenty of facilities, all clean and tidy, a couple of shops for coffee and ice cream.
