We stayed at POR and it was lovely. From what I've heard one major thing is POR is bigger and more spread out than FQ. I seem to remember, but this is a few years ago, that boats to DTD started at POR and then stopped at FQ. They were often full up by the time they reached FQ so people ended up having to wait. I don't know if this is different now.

Just to balance it up... I vote for POFQ. We stayed there in Feb 2008 and loved it because it was smaller - not so far to walk for the morning coffees! Loved the atmosphere and general feel of the resort. Wouldn't hesitate to go to POFQ again...

We took the boat ride from DTD to POR last year and yes it is still the case that on the way back it departs from POR first so the boats do get full by the time they get to FQ.
I prefer POR its more spread out 1 main pool and 2 other quiet pools, FQ only has 1 pool.

Thanks for comments so far, trying to find somewhere I can stay with our 4 year old while she sleeps in the evening and DH and inlaws can go out without too much trouble, the boat to DTD sounds perfect.

I think if you have young children my vote would de pofq. It's smaller so easier to navigate! Quicker to dtd too!

We've stayed twice at POR. Once in Magnolia Bend which was lovely and a nice walk and quiet witth a baby. Then our last visit we'd requested MB again but this time we were allocated building 14. Right next to the food court, next to a smaller pool and the laundry. It was perfect. We really enjoyed it.

I don't think you can go wrong with either to be honest. Both lovely, POR best food court, but busier. French Quarter 1 pool, but a great pool to while away the afternoon.you can also walk between them both and enjoy the others facilities.

Another vote for pofq, staying there for the fourth time this year. I love the size of it, it but also the theming, it is so pretty.
