The Cold Doesn't Bother Us Anyway - Wafflers off to DLP - February 2020 - Day 1 Travel Day

Not much sleep was had due to the excitement of going to Disneyland Paris. We had our alarms set for 4 am so we could do a few last-minute chores and some last-minute packing. This is our second time going to Disneyland Paris and it felt strange only packing for 3 nights when you are used to 14 nights for WDW.

We left home at 5.10 am and we were on our way to Ebbsfleet. Strange enough the M20 was full of traffic and it took a bit longer than expected. We booked parking for Car Park D which is about a 10-minute walk away. Price wasn't bad £24 for 3 nights. The last time we were here was August when it was a lot warmer and not raining as much.

It only took about 5 minutes to get through security and had a half-hour wait in the departure lounge before we headed to the platform. In the departure lounge, there isn't much but a WHSmith and a Cafe Nero.

Our Eurostar was from Ebbsfleet to Lille Europe and then we would board a TGV from Lille Europe to Disneyland Paris. It arrived at 07:04 and we arrived at 09:26. It was quite a quick journey to Lille and can't complain about the service we received from Eurostar.

Once in Lille Europe, we headed over to Euralille Shopping Centre which had enough food options and shops to keep us occupied while we waited for our 11:10 TGV to Disneyland Paris. As we found out on our last trip in August, there is a McDonalds but it doesn't open to after 11 am which is difficult when you're after breakfast.

We decided to get a Croissant, Pain au chocolat and a coffee to share which would be enough for us until we get to Disney.

After the food was consumed we had a wander through Primark and resisted buying any of The Mandalorian clothes. I did buy myself a new hat and gloves because I was the one who left them at home and we were expecting quite a cold week in Disney.

Once we were back at Lille Europe station which is only a couple of minutes away from Euralille we headed to our platform. This is when we had the news the train was delayed by 10 mins. We were on the train at 11:20 and arrived in DLP at 12:25.

Within minutes of arriving, we were handing over our bags to Angel at the Disney Express Luggage counter. We had a chat with him for a while as he was recently training in Ashford and we talked about how quick the Eurostar is. We were given our paperwork to show at check-in to get our room keys and was told to leave the labels on the bag so they would make their way back to the counter on check-out day.

We headed straight into Disneyland Park as we wanted to exchange our temporary AP vouchers for the real cards. There was a bit of a queue but we wanted to get this sorted so we could pick up our Photopass which was included with my Infinity pass.

To be continued...
