Many are doing online deliveries even though their shop is closed.

I don't see anything wrong with shopping online, it's helping keep business going! The dog chewed one of DD's bras, so I ordered her some new ones, it was my nieces birthday yesterday, and my nephews 18th last weekend, I got stuff delivered for them. The delivery drivers leave it on the doorstep and then ring the bell, or if i'm in the garden they will leave it by the back fence.

I work for the NHS, hubby a copper, and getting to any sort of shop is a nightmare at the moment with our working hours, so online shopping is all we have! And, if they didn't want people to shop/spend money, everything would be closed!

I do worry about putting people at risk in big distribution centres like Amazon but I think it is still better to order and keep businesses open. Hopefully the companies are being mindful of the rules and distancing. So far though we have ordered gin from a local distillery and white company for some new bedding and home fragrance (ds and dh home all the time I need some girly scents around the house) I also sent flowers to dd, dil and mil for Easter instead of eggs!

My DD’s partner works for Argos they have taken on 3 more van drivers an increase of 2 to 5. As long as it’s run safely (which it is social distancing in store and no contact upon delivery ) it’s keeping a business going ,people employed and more importantly encouraging people to stay at home.

I’ve had deliveries from Zooplus , amazon and have orders plants from Jersey
DH is still able to work But has to order paint for his customers online ( working outside so following social distancing)
Our local DPD driver is lovely and always smiling and happy
I said to him last week sorry about this and he said ‘ no worries ‘ your cats have got to eat 😀I gave him a sanitised bag with a new mask, gloves and hand sanitizer last week and a washed and dried can of pop ... ( I had gloves on to hand them to him in a new ziploc bag)

I've ordered quite a lot, we've been in a new house for a few months so have taken the time off to get loads of DIY things done, so I've had a fair few deliveries come. If you think the state of the economy is bad now, imagine it if we also all stopped buying anything online too.

Yep I am. So far DS has had a new PC delivered from a small computer shop in Liverpool, a desk delivered from Argos it’s keeping him happy and entertained especially since his laptop died. We are getting a new tv delivered tomorrow from John Lewis for the living room and the living room tv is going into youngest DS’s room as his is old and a bit rubbish to watch. And on Thursday I’m having a new kindle and cover delivered from Argos as I can’t get to the library to get more books and my old kindle died. So all the deliveries aren’t necessarily essential to most people but they are essential to keep us entertained and occupied during lockdown which means we are less likely to venture out! That’s my reasoning 😊
