DLP for less - offers vs AP and DIY

Hi, wanted to start a separate thread rather than hijack someone else”s

We love DLP having been twice now and would ideally like to visit twice a year if we can find savings. Our target price for our trips so far has been £2k which is for two adults and two children, five nights at Newport Bay and includes a half board meal plan. This is usually the 25% offer.

Can DLP be done for less at the same hotel and same dining (breakfast at hotel and one plus restaurant per day) or is this £2k price (25 % offer) a great deal already?

When I look at annual passes (magic flex or plus), the cost of booking the hotel and the meal plan is more expensive than the deal I usually book. I’d love to visit twice a year but £4K plus travel would be a stretch. Can onsite be done for less?

You could look at getting one Infinity pass for the extra discounts, upto 50% off hotels, 15% restaurants and 20% shops, free stroller hire (depending how old the children are) then get the others the Magic Flex passes

With AP's you are usually better off using the discount instead of getting a meal plan then you have more flexibility, Rainforest Cafe and King Ludwigs give you 10%

To give you an idea of hotel prices, I got 50% discount at NPB 5 nights next week and it was about £780 2ad 1ch

Thanks LufcDeb. Was the NBC price room only or includes breakfast? I have to say I do love the food at that hotel!

I prefer Sequoia Lodge personally, it is more cosy and homely. Although come to that, the Cheyenne has superb theming - probably the best in DLP - and we really liked the refurbed room.

The real savings will be offsite though, I suspect. Lots of places in Val d’Europe that are just 5 minutes away on the RER. We have stayed at the Elysee and been walking into our room 15 minutes after leaving the park.

It also depends a lot on your arrival day - if you check the pricing calendar, it might be worth rejigging things a bit to get a better base price. We spent less than £2k in total on hotel, tickets, travel and premium dining for 2 adults and 2 children at the DLH 18 months ago, so NPB with plus dining would have been much cheaper.

That was with the 2 free days offer, and paying for premium dining, but the main thing was that we were lucky enough to arrive on a super value day. (It was during school holidays for some U.K. areas, but most of the U.K. and Europe broke up 2 or 3 days later.)
