Thank you ever so much for asking that as my flight has yet to be cancelled and so if I can’t change my flight without charge, then I will just get the refund if the cancellations aren’t forthcoming.

That’s really good to know as I’d hate to finally get through only to find that out! 😂 I now know it’s a waiting game - so thank you, that helps a lot! 👍

I’m glad that helps! I had a big difference in fares one of the times I rebooked and was given vouchers for the difference at the time (still not sure if it was a mistake or not) but it was £350 worth so I’ve used these to book totally new flights and will just wait to get my October ones cancelled. I’m pretty confident they will be as we can’t physically travel until November 😂

Lines close when the system is overwhelmed. They can’t magic additional staff or lines out of nowhere.
You aren’t travelling for several months presumably so as it’ll just be changing your internal flight it’s not going to be difficult. I’d really not stress about getting through *today* , you may even find it’s automatically rebooked over the next couple of days anyway
I leave in 12 weeks (26th December).

My route is EDI-LHR-MCO. BA have already changed my LHR flight to 12:30pm. This leaves me with only 1 reasonable opportunity to get there on time.

EDI-LHR at 07:15 arriving at 08:55. If this sells out, then I am stuffed. I need 5 seats.

Plan B, would be the 08:35 - 10:15. I personally think this is too tight with a small baby and elderly mother. Albeit its likely T5, if any sort of delay, then its going to be close. If that sells out, i'm royally stuffed.

With the recent announcement, I fully expect these flights to fill quickly, and any other London airport would be a disaster to connect.

Do you understand my frustration now? I need to sort this ASAP to avoid any stress that I don't need, especially when I have made no progress over the last few weeks.

I also tried the BA flight only number and they chased me. I had another number for members but again they couldn't help.

We go this route on 14 November (assuming US is open by then). We got e-mails from BA this morning saying that the 0835 EDI-LHR had been cancelled and they asked us to confirm that the 0715 is acceptable. We are currently sitting on this request as it is our free cancellation card if things go pear shaped.

The outbound is a Sunday, like yours, so you may want to check if Plan B is still viable. Good luck whatever you do

Thank you

I guess the system hasn't picked up on the flight issues. Delighted to be on an earlier flight into Orlando. It's been years since we have managed to get in before 6.30pm US time.

There's still time for them to contact me, but if they don't and I can't get through, I'm might have to purchase the earlier flight to London and see if they'll sort it at the check in. Providing I don't catch covid prior to travelling.

I'll check Glasgow and see what's available there. Just need to hold off on airport parking for now.

Book your airport parking Steph, most offer cancellation
We booked ours for this years US trip and paid an extra £1 for cancellation glad we did as our flight won’t be going and we could amend or cancel which was in the fee above .
If we hadn’t the car parking was now £400+ instead of the £195 we paid ,we are still going but not to the USA.
This is Heathrow though.

BA
Ok, so now end of day and the call facility automatically cuts you off (end of working day I guess)
HOWEVER I have been calling since 0755 and have continuously been asking to 'speak to an agent' on the so called live chat!
22 calls made and cut off, and must be the same with the chat as was doing at same time.
YES i appreciate things have changed very quickly but seriously, bring the staff in if you want the custom.
Very poor service.
And to a previous answer in this thread NO I do not complain after waiting for 5 minutes, that would of been a blessing!
So still not resolved with BA and it is now 1947

I also need to get through to BA! Really struggling to even get on hold! Every time I go through the options it just says they cannot take the call and it gets cut off.

I need to make an amendment to my dates (flying 29th Dec) and like someone mentioned above id like to do this soon before everything books up!

A little stressful will try first thing in the morning!
