Mobile Transfer between LHR and Kings Cross ?

An elderly relative is flying into Heathrow.

She intends to get a taxi to Kings Cross which I thought might be alarmingly pricey.

Does anyone know a private transfer company that's reliable ? And cheaper than a taxi ?

If she can book assistance the tube is honestly the easiest way, straight there. Someone can meet her off the plane and take her right into the train, get her seated and meet her off it, I’ve seen it done many times.

Thanks, I don't know whether you'll see this now the thread has moved from transportation but where would her luggage go ?

She'll have her Christmas presents with her so would need her suitcase to be secure.

Rather than a taxi book her a car and driver , the driver will meet her as she comes out of immigration and help her (and importantly her luggage) to the car (rather than her have to get to the cab rank) and is likely cheaper than a black cab as it’s a fixed price so no need to worry about the meter ticking if traffic is bad.
Neither is going to be cheap but this is a less expensive of the two option and means she will not have to make her way alone from immigration.
If once she realises how expensive it is she doesn’t want to do it then National Express to London then a cab may be another good option.

Duchy’s option does sound good and might be the best idea; but just to say if you do book travel assistance they would take her luggage on and off the tube when they take her/meet her, and also ensure she got a seat. I’ve seen them do it many times with disabled passengers.

Sounds like she may not fancy the tube if she’s talking taxis but maybe suggest as Heathrow is so vast she books assistance with her airline whatever she decides. Tactfully though. Elderly is sometimes subjective and she may not feel she really needs it !

She normally flies into the north east via Amsterdam but because she's had so much hassle with Expedia trying to use her voucher she's having to transfer through CDG this time. Expedia USA still owe her $1000 from other cancelled flights otherwise she might have stayed over and flown up to NCL the following day.

At least she's agreed to book assistance for the first time.

She was fretting about getting stuck in immigration at Heathrow and not being able to contact the driver if she had a private transfer but am I right in thinking that if she's got assistance she would have some sort of priority ?
