Seat selection error please help

Pre booked my seats yesterday with virgin for Aug 22 . Paid £240 as there was no way to go forward without paying .Emailed Kenwood this morning to check that was correct and they said seats are free . Well I’ve been all over virgin site and can’t figure out how to sort it out , endless loops if you go on their “ robot chat “ and 3 hour wait on the phone . Any advice ?

Economy light is the only class seats are allocated at Checkin. How can MMB take your money for a product it doesn’t sell ? Sounds like either a glitch or Kenwood have booked you into Light or you selected a non standard seat which does have a fee ? If you paid Kenwood then get them to refund else send VS an email with screen shots

Hi Disneycraft Virgin now operate a two tier system in economy classic
Preferred seats you have to pay for at £30.00 per person each way these tend to be further forward in the cabin
The economy seats further back should be free
This should be indicated in the seating plan when you chose your seats
If you have already paid I think you will need to contact Virgin to sort out a refund and move to free seats
If you are a flying club member you could try ringing them to see if they can sort it for you

Ahhh it could be that , they are near the front ,behind economy . Is there a way to find out which numbered seats are chargeable do you know ?

If you go on chose your seats on the Virgin Atlantic site and select a seat it should indicate if it’s chargeable or not
From memory the chargeable ones have a red hexagonal stripe while extra leg room have a vertical stripe the free seats are just all white

Thank you . I just went on and chose 4 nearest the front ,I didn’t realise there is now a charge .
