Swansea Dibbers Help Please

We are going to Swansea next Wednesday primarily for the football match on the evening but have decided to come earlier in the day, so would like some ideas on where to go and what to see. We like shopping, historical places and walking. Fingers crossed the weather will be kind.

Any ideas would be great 👍

Our son lives in Swansea and we regularly visit, it’s a really varied city with everything you ask for. The city centre has all the usual mainstream shops and restaurants. Like many cities, there are also empty shops and some rundown streets too.

The Marina area is nice for a stroll around and has some nice restaurants.

Historic sites include Dylan Thomas’ birthplace/house, Oxwich Castle, Mumbles Pier (definitely recommmend trying the local ice cream Joe’s at the Mumbles)

The highlight of Swansea are the Bays though. It’s a little drive out of the main city towards the Gower but the beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. Rhossili is my favourite, but there’s also Three Cliffs (both are these are very good if you like walking), Oxwich, Port Eynon, Caswell, Langland and others. They’re all beautiful and many have lovely cafes, pubs and restaurants close by.

Edited to add: there’s a large retail park close to the Liberty Stadium with the usual retail stores and restaurants if you want to not go too far from the stadium, but this does get very busy on match days

Edited at 01:08 PM.

There is a fantastic little restaurant called the Beachouse right on the beach at Oxwich Bay and then a nice wander to Three Cliffs Bay afterwards or a circular walk around the headland.

Sorry I missed this one! Would have said Mumbles and Joe’s Ice Cream 100%
Oxwich is my fave beach. Nice pub called the gower inn not too far away from there.
And McArthur Glenn on the m4 near Bridgend for a bit of outlet shopping.

No problem bab. We went for a walk on the beach to blow away the cobwebs, pity about the football result
