Uber or Lyft

Hi there

Im doing a solo trip in December and for the first time Im not hiring a car. I would like to make one trip to Target from All star and didn’t know which out of Uber/Lyft is more reliable/safer for a solo traveller?

Many thanks

Hello. Not a solo traveler, but we found Lyft to be really good . No bad press for Uber, i just preferred the app on Lyft and i had some discount codes! . All drivers really friendly, some quiet and let you just chill out while going A>B, others were excitingly talking about the recent space launch that took place, lol.

Brilliant service tho, will be using them next time for most of our days out xx

Having done a few solo trips now, I tend to mix and match Uber and Lyft.
Sometimes if Uber are showing surge pricing or a long wait time, I’ll switch to Lyft to see if I can get a car cheaper/quicker
Always had great service from both

We use both , most drivers drive for both anyway. Lyft tends to be slightly cheaper with more offers but if you don’t use Uber in the U.K. and it’s just one/two journeys then get someone to refer you to them and use their link to sign up as you’ll both get credit on your accounts so it will save you a few dollars.

As above, a lot of the drivers work for both. So there's not a huge difference. For a solo traveller, Uber have a Comfort option which only offers your ride to top rated drivers. Costs a bit more, but might help if you're feeling anxious. Lyft have their own version of this but I'm not sure if it's available in Orlando yet.

FWIW, I've done the Target run solo in an Uber without any issues and will be doing it again, probably just a few days before you going by countdowns.

Thank you for all your replies! Im normally pretty confident and have done a few solo trips before but I think lockdown etc. has dented my confidence a bit and Im sure Im worrying about nothing. Looking forward to going back to the magic 🤗

I’ve used it solo all over America including Orlando. I’ve never even felt uneasy.
