Big smiles today working in infant school this morning!

Firstly, a Reception child gave me a new surname as she couldn't remember my name. I'm now Mrs Woodchip which has made my day.
I've told her she can always call me this now. Wonderful 🥰

Secondly, I could hear all the Nativity songs being practised for next weeks performances, a lovely morning!

Dd is in her last year of primary and off today for jubilee day (think it’s something to do with number of teaching days) and they’ve been practicing for their online carol concert, such a shame we can’t go in .

I'm a part time resource assistant, making, laminating things etc for the teachers to use in class, but I also cover the office mostly too.
I do enjoy it as each day is different. I've had to cover in classes as a TA and also some lunch duty due to staff shortages 😬 completely out of my comfort zone recently.
I love the little ones though, they are so cute and funny but some are little horrors!

I really miss working in Nursery and Reception at this time of year but after 37 years I think I deserved a rest. I love all the different variations of my name I’ve had over the years - Mrs Furball and Mrs Fizzbomb are among my all time favourites 😂

DD goes to a special school, she is in year 8, one of the other girls has renamed everyone with a new name, one of TAs is now called Marshmallow! The names for everyone has stuck it seems. DD is now called Chocolate, one of the other TA is called Giant (she is tiny!).
