We decided to take our trip after all ! I have booked a Travelodge in Kingston for 3 nights from Sunday, reasonable priced and near the train station. It’s all a bit last minute now so I’ll have to plan what we are going to be doing when we are down there !

We’re currently in the Travelodge Covent Garden, booked in August, as we had vouchers to use. For location and price we honestly don’t think we could have done much better. I paid £150 for 2 nights including the WiFi. It’s ok for an average hotel, but the location is perfect for us.

It’s a 6 min walk to the Theatre Royal for Frozen, which we saw last night, and Cinderella is across the road, and 7/8 min walk to Covent Garden.

We walked to Buckingham Palace yesterday after we checked in, should have taken 30 mins, but took nearer 45, as DD (6) was very grumpy about it, (and she was the one who wanted to see it, but I think it was the walking part ) eventually going on strike in Green Park, we had to tell her we were only 2 mins away at this point

That might be me next week grumpy and complaining at the walking !
I wanted the Covent Garden one but I just couldn’t justify £540 in a Travelodge for 3 nights. I had just left it too late. It would have also meant going on the train which was just silly money.
We will stay in Kingston for £190 for the 3 nights and we can drive there and go on the train into London.

There is so much to do in London I just can’t think now of where we want to go.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.

My husband refused to get one last night after the show. My daughter was desperate to get one.

Could I ask some help with the tube now please?

I need to know which one I get on at Kew Gardens, where I get off and connect with the next one. I want to go to green park or thereabouts.

I used the citymapper app while in London (a friend who goes regularly recommended it to me.) Just put in where you want to go, and it’s gives you the best routes and length of journey.
