Anyone live in /near Richmond Yorkshire
Hi, thinking of having a couple of nights in Richmond. Will just be me and Ruby my springer spaniel. Are there plenty of walks in the area we can do. Any thoughts / help appreciated. Looking at a stay potentially in the Black Lion.

There’s a pleasant afternoon stroll from Richmond to Easby Abbey along the disused railway line, and along the banks of the River Swale to Hudswell Woods. Have a look at Richmond.org for more info.

We lived in Richmond for a few years and still love to have day trips there.
Our children always enjoyed the loop around the river from the old railway station to the town. Although a short distance, we always see dogs having fun in the lower part of the river. There is also a nice walk along the river in the opposite direction from the station to the ruins of Easby abbey. A short distance out of town are Hudswell woods / Round Howe and Billy Bank Wood with various walking options. nationaltrust.uk/hud...nk-woods-trail |

We’re back from a mainly Scottish road trip but on our way southwards & home, we had 2 nights in Fox Hall Inn not far from Richmond; fab food!
We went to Richmond itself; loved the town with a lovely market place & seemed like lots of lovely places to eat. We don’t have a dog but saw tons of people out with their dogs especially in the area around Easby Abbey (less than a mile from the centre of Richmond). Just a lovely area with lots of gorgeous countryside & scenery. Have a lovely time! |
