Fuming

Just found out quite by accident our outward fight has been changed from 7.40am to 1pm AND our return flight has been cancelled.
No email or text to inform us. When I phoned them the only return flight they could come up with was flying from Paris to Barcelona then flying back to Gatwick the following morning. No offer of a hotel or anything. We apparently can’t fly back with a different airline as that is not allowed in the terms and conditions also not allowed is a refund of my baggage payment just the cost of the flight.
They said they emailed me on 15/9/21 telling me of the change/cancellation but I have not received an email they also said they text me but when I phoned from my mobile my number had no booking linked to it so how could have text me. I have booked with Euro tunnel and are going to drive. Never done this before so quite nervous. Any advice welcome. Sorry for the long rant xx

Driving is completely straight forward. Down 3 or 4 motorways that’s it. Don’t worry about it. Usually takes us 3.5 hours from Calais . Allow about an hour to get through the additional checks at Eurotunnel right now.

The same thing has happened to us. We were supposed to be flying with easyJet on 23/11 (booked via DLP) and I found out by chance on 29/10 when I went on to book special assistance that our outward flight had been cancelled.

I phoned DLP and they had known since 08/10 but hadn’t even tried to contact us for some unknown reason. They were completely inflexible and refused to do anything to help us sort out our holiday so I had to rebook our flights separately and pay for an extra night in a different hotel in order to salvage our booking. To say I’m unimpressed is an understatement!

I keep being paranoid and keep checking on the EJ website that the flights are still planned. They are doing 2 flights a day currently to Paris (morning to Orly and evening to CDG). Hoping they don't put it down to 1 flight a day as they are nice times and we'd lose a day in the park.

If you were able to drive the night before you could break up the journey and stop off in Arras (it's the town near where you switch from the A26 to the A1). Monday 29th (assuming you're currently going on the Tuesday?) is the first night of the Arras Christmas Market.

Actually, scratch that. Website suggest the dates have changed and it doesn't start until 3rd December now.

Agree with this, we always drive and it’s super easy.
2 weeks ago we got there in just under 3 hours from Calais.
