Heathrow Parking - Ford Ranger

Bit of a strange one! Has anyone who owns a Ford Ranger (or similar double cab pick up) had any success is finding long term parking at Heathrow Terminal 2? Heathrow Parking are saying it’s too big and Purple Parking won’t accept it as it’s classed as a commercial vehicle.

I am thinking we may need to book a B&B with parking or suchlike a few miles away?

My husband changed his car recently so this is a new problem for us 🤣

Thank you!

You need to be looking at long stay official car park which is outside, have a look at some of the you tube videos you will see many oversize vehicles parked up. It’s just the multi-storey which tend to have the most restrictions.

Thanks so much to both of you. This is the parking I have booked (before we changed cars!) but when I messaged them to ask if the spaces were suitable for the Ranger I was told no.

I can see from the videos that there are plenty of larger vehicles so thank you for this suggestion and I will leave the booking as it is. 😀😀

We are going from T5 next year, husband has a transit custom. The long stay is fine height wise but they won’t accept commercial vehicles. I am going to book the multi story next to the terminal as the height is ok and has no other restrictions.
I have watched you tube video of the car park and it has vans in it.

If you go in the main Heathrow airport parking it has a list of the restrictions in the info section at the top, try this for T2 car parks.

Hiya
We have a Ford Ranger and like you had troubles finding onsite car parking, as this year several long stay companies have changed their rules and wont accept long cabbed vehicles eg Navara, Rangers as they take up two traditional spaces!
The terms now state ‘The following are not permitted in the car park…….parking outside of a designated bay’ Or Purple Parking Park and Ride do not accept Single or double cab pickup trucks such as Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux or Nissan Navara.
In the end we have booked a private taxi to Heathrow, more expensive but less hassle.

This applies to purple parking not official Heathrow parking, rules below for long stay are as below.

Height restrictions Maximum height at exit barriers 2.5m (8ft 2in).
Car and trailer restrictions- Trailers are not permitted.

Morning,
We had noticed the official Heathrow T&Cs state:
“2.9
The following are not permitted in the car park………
(e)
parking outside of a designated bay…..”

As a Ranger owner know we won’t fit in the normal car park space, and finding a suitable space, not sticking out in the through way may be challenging. Hence decided we didn’t want this stress level. Shame as loved parking so close.

Again, thank you for all your replies. It’s so hard to know what the right thing to do is. I am a worrier by nature so like to know everything is planned and okay!
