How to Tell the Children

Hi,

We travel next April after it been cancelled in August just gone.

Plan on telling the children we are going sometime in December and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions advice on most exciting way to tell them.

Is there any sort of promotional dvd or YouTube clip that shows snippets of all the parks/water parks both Disney and Universal?

They have never been before so want them to get real excited by seeing everything they have to look forward too.

Thanks in advance.

Etsy or ebay do little personalised reveal tickets? You could film them when they open it? You could find on youtube the latest DW ad and say wouldn't it be great if you were able to go? Well...

Exciting!

We took the outlaw with us one year and told our daughter we were taking nanny to the airport. Her face when we got the bags out of the car at the airport and she realised we were all going

We have told them at the airport and one year we did an Easter egg hunt and inside the chocolate egg at the end was a picture of Disney World castle. It was brilliant. Maybe you could do something similar for Christmas instead, maybe use Elf on the Shelf or even save it and give them a table present on christmas day x

You can get baubles that come in 2 parts that you can put a photo or whatever in. Write you are going to DW on, and put in a box and wrap it for Xmas day.

How about some sort of treasure hunt around the house, with the clues becoming increasingly obvious either with photos and/or words?

Not quite on the same scale, but we did this for my son last Christmas when we had bought him a TV for his room, which for him was a major thing, and when he got to the end and figured what it was all about, was quite the sight!

We are going in January and I have got DS a Christmas card from card factory, I’m sure it was only £1.79, online they have loads that you can personalise yourself with photos and your own message so we just put lots of Orlando pics (universal/SeaWorld etc) on the front and inside it says we are going to Orlando in January. We will give it him on Xmas day.

At the moment and clearly depending on the ages of your children and their understanding I would still hold off telling them you are going until a couple of weeks before you go. Just my opinion!
