She's not the only student going through the mincer... said from the start that the kids teens will be the real major victims of the past 18 months... will be some massive fall out in the next few years...

This is exactly what the psychologist said to me too. My heart goes out to you. Maybe it's worth telling her that's how you feel, then she may have the strength to tell you if it's too much and she wants to come home? Keep us posted?

My eldest daughter, 20 now, went through the mill of mental health issues at around 15/16.

We went to a private counselling service which we found through the Internet to be honest. You find people don't like to share counsellors, something to do with the stigma still around mental health I guess.

We got lucky with the loveliest lady who listened to the issues and gave Dd some coping mechanisms. She had a session with her once a week for 6 weeks and then once a month for the rest of the year. It REALLY helped her to cope.

Best of luck xx

Thank you so much. I've been sent some resources so have a starting point. It's a minefield!

Certainly in our area you can self refer for one to one free counselling . May be worth a word with your Gp surgery to see if it works that way in your area too. Alternatively they may recommend a private counsellor but it can get expensive as it’s usually weekly over a few months.
