I don’t have teens, but I am another that tends to think personal preference is more relevant than age. I am a fully grown adult, I do thrill rides but I prefer Disney to Universal and I am not too old for character meals.

I would have a family discussion about what to do rather than make your decisions based on what other people’s teens have preferred.

The first time I went to Florida me and my brother were teens and we definitely preferred Universal, Seaworld & Busch Gardens. We were tall enough for all the big coasters it was brilliant. We still had a great time at Disney though.

Definitely worth looking at the Ultimate ticket for Discovery Cove as you get unlimited access to Seaworld, Aquatica, Busch and free parking which makes it really good value.

Edited to add some amazing deals on at Discovery Cove at the moment - discoverycove/orlando/black-friday/ I'm not fussed on the dolphin swim so works out for $118 dollars for the non swim ultimate in October 21.

We have been visiting Disney and Universal as a family since DS was 7years old. He is a coaster junkier (as is DH) and prefers Universal and IOA, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. They indulge me by going to Disney!

Disney Parks - mine now prefer HS and AK but I think if they had to choose it would probably be HS.

They now all prefer all Universal Parks over Disney which is why we have opted not to do Disney next year because as a family of 5, we just can’t justify the cost of Disney tickets.

Also we did a split stay Universal/Disney last year and I have to say, after going on all the big rides in Universal, Disney for us was a bit of an anti-climax.

If you get the 3 park Universal ticket, Volcano Bay is a must as well - our children loved it!

Haven’t yet been to SW properly or BG but plan on visiting next year
