I have the new fiesta titanium and I absolutely love it. I have driven the length and breadth of Scotland in it and it’s a great wee car.

Never even thought to look at Mazda. Thanks.

We have a Seat Leon and for a 1.4l it packs surprising power. I think its a turbo. We did have an Ibiza but it wasn't nearly as good at big hills and over taking etc.

I have a new fiesta and we love it, if fact we tend to use it much more than our Volvo XC60. It’s nippy but comfy and so easy to drive.

Hubby's just bought a Renault clio, we are in Wales and when we took it for a test drive the sales lad said it's good for going up hills😁, it's a 1.5, but surprisingly nippy.

I have a VW up - got me through several winters - solid car which for me holds the road well with a good bit of nip when needed - I’m a community nurse and it’s not let me down

I would go for an Audi A1 or a VW Polo I think.

Though I have a friend just bought an outgoing BMW 116D - only a couple of miles on the clock as it was BMW registered - got £12K off basic model RRP. Plus it had a number of extras so more like £13K off.
They are trying to get rd of them so might be worth checking your local BMW place if this would be of interest. This was last month.
While it isn't for me, it is the best value car I seen, probably ever.

I'm on my second polo, I downgraded from my bmw when DD passed her test and couldn't get insurance for her. I don't do a lot of driving, mostly about town but as said it has a solid build but is nippy and comfortable and fuel efficient. I got the 1.0 and yes the turbo engine does make a difference and don't have to pay road tax either
