Virgin economy - seats
Hi
We’ve booked virgin economy flights and can only check in 24 hours in advance. We are a family of 4 and wondered if we’d get seats together. Or would we have to reserve seats in advance? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks |

What class of seat have you booked? Economy light or economy classic? If it's classic, then free seat booking is included and you can choose them 331 days before your flight. If it's light, the you can only choose seats at check in from what's available.
Airlines do try to seat children and adults together, but the definition of together is next to, in front, behind or across the aisle. They may split you in to 2 parties of 2 also. There was a thread on here recently about a young child being placed in an empty seat on the opposite side of the plane from their mother and the Dibber agreed to swap seats, but a lot of people won't. If you want to guarantee being seated together, it's advisable to book, especially if you're flying at a busy time of year.

So do you mean light or classic? There isn't a basic category. If it's light, then you'll have hand luggage only. If you've got hold luggage too, then it's classic which means you can book seats in advance.

Hi
It’s light, so to guarantee kids are with an adult I should upgrade? Cheers |

How old are the kids? If under 12 they should definitely be sat with one of you.
Not sure if Eco light tickets can be upgraded?

If you want anything other than hand luggage I would upgrade, would also give you seat selection.

I would definitely see if you can upgrade to classic so you get seat booking and a proper luggage allowance. Are you planning on just taking hand luggage at present?
Although a child should be with an adult, it's not guaranteed and, like I said before, could be in front, behind or across the aisle.
