Thanks, but I was talking about our last trip and we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in the end!

Thanks

Direct with Disney.

It looks like they have regular offers, but each one only runs for the near-term, so it's worth keeping an eye on this:

disneyland.disney.go/offers-discounts/

(You might have to change the language at the very top to United States (English) to see things properly)

it says it’s about a 30 min walk, which we really don’t mind. With jet lag we will be up really early so will walk up and go for breakfast. We paid $335 for 2 nights which we though was a great price. We could’ve got closer, but I wanted somewhere a bit nicer given it’s my birthday.
This is where we always stay, assuming it’s the Orange County one, we stayed there on our honeymoon so it’s tradition for us.

They (along with neighbouring hotels) do run a shuttle that was originally free but they’ve started charging for it if I remember from our last visit, it was something like $5 a round trip - we often get the shuttle to the park but just walk back if we’ve stayed to park closing and it’s busy - we are fast walkers so it doesn’t take us too long at all (certainly not 30 mins) and if you’ve been queuing all day sometimes it’s nice to walk!

We stayed at Desert Palms, on junction of West Katella and Harbor Boulevard. Nice hotel about 10 mins walk from DL, and fair price

That’s really good to know, thanks. And I didn’t think it would take 30 mins.

We're heading out in April, staying at the Anaheim Hilton - reckon it is about a mile / 20 minute walk, but hadn't heard of the Toy Story shuttle bus.

We’ve also had a little look at AirBnbs, which I probably shouldn’t have done as I’ve now found a gorgeous little place in Fullerton.

So I guess what I’m trying to ask is where would you stay? Any hotel recommendations welcome, plus reviews/opinions on Fullerton.

Thanks 😁
We stayed in Fullerton on honeymoon in 1993, and it was a good base. Just off interstate and about a 15 -20 minute drive down Harbor Boulevard to Disneyland, and other attractions are also close at hand, Knotts Berry Farm, and all usual places to eat including the famous In Out Burger chain.
Coincidently we found ourselves back in Fullerton during our summer trip, after taking the train from Anaheim to LA, then discovering we couldn't get back to Anaheim due to weekend train timings we got a later train to Fullerton. Found a nice pub (Heroes) for meal near station then got a Lyft back to Anaheim for $12.
So I wouldn't write Fullerton off as an area to stay
