Excited about Disney
|
I don't know about moving there as I love where I live, but I would like to experience an extended stay, maybe 3 months, to appreciate the non-holiday stuff that I would inevitably discover and enjoy, particularly the nature and wildlife.

We are so lucky to have the best/of both worlds spend a lot of the winter in Florida
Have owned so long we have made many good friends and both have a life out there All be it a part time life Biggest issue for us not moving out full time when we retired was Health Insurance cost was eye watering to be honest Although we are now used to it the first time we joined friends for thanksgiving our friends insist everyone checks there gun into the gun safe it actually really freaked me out It has many positives especially for me health wise with the weather things to do Being outside so much more etc but we are happy with our divided life but not right at the moment as this winter looks like a right off at least October to December |

I've never had any desire to live in the US. If I was emigrating it would always have been Australia, but with elderly parents who only had me, it never happened - I had several opportunities to move out there and offers of work.
Now that I'm older though, the thought of DH & myself spending retirement in the sunshine state with our own pool and WDW / Universal close to us is becoming more appealing!

I’d move there in a heartbeat especially if I win the Euromillions tonight, of course I’d buy a house next door either side for my kids & Grandkids
And as I was born in New Jersey it should be a doddle My younger son would definitely love to go & frequently looks at Accountant jobs at Disney, but my DIL doesn’t want to leave her Mum |

I have friends who retired to Vero.
One of the reasons they picked it was easy proximity to several cruise ports so they potter around Vero and cruise several times a year. I could definitely handle that if I had the income ... sadly I don’t. Working in the US , definitely not (my ex husband did it and now career wise it’d be suicide to return to Europe but he isn’t happy with the lifestyle even though he’s very well paid ) |

Hubby and I have often talked about moving there. But reality is not the same as a holiday. I think a few more trips during retirement will have to surfice. Health insurance vs NHS and family being here are the biggest factors.

I lived there when I was younger but I wouldn't move there permanently again as the summers are too hot for me now. I'd happily winter there every year though.
