A week in Florida for £1k all in... let’s see if it’s possible!
Evening all, so I’ve found myself with some excess annual leave this year and a few £ spare so I decided to try and book an ultra cheap last minute deal for my son and I.
I only have a week’s worth of holiday but as my son isn’t yet at school I’m flexible on dates so I started looking today and bingo! Flights are booked for 2 weeks time with TUI for the crazy price of £180 each! This will be our third trip in 12 months (albeit my first trip as a solo parent) so I’m trying to keep it cheap... really cheap I’m going to try to stick to a budget of 1k for everything other than tickets (we have annual passes)- flights, hotel , spending money and car hire. I thought i’d start this thread to document how I get on and (hopefully) show that Florida is doable even on a tight budget. Wish me luck Flights: £360 Hotel: £231 - £18.48 cashback = £212.52 Car hire: £139.11 including prepaid fuel and all extra's Spending money: £288.37 Edited at 11:10 AM. |

Wow! That’s a great price for the flights. Will be following this with interest. I booked a week in January in the Virgin sale last week which is 2 direct flights from Manchester, a 2 bed condo at Bahama Bay and economy car for £1005. Park tickets covered so just need spends. I like to go little and often so always looking to do things as cheaply as I can.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone
Tomorrow will be spent shopping around to see if I can beat £136+fuel for car hire (discountfloridacarhire) and researching cheap hotels that aren’t completely awful! I think that’ll be the trickiest part of this if I’m honest but we only need somewhere to sleep and hey, if I go with low expectations I can only be pleasantly surprised eh! |

Take a look at clarion lake Buena vista. Great location for Disney and usually quite reasonable.

This year for two of our nights we stayed in celebration suites they were so cheap and I was pleasantly surprised at them. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend them for budget accomadation.
