Why not speak to the folks at The DVC Store.com ? They will advise and then guide you through the process of whichever route you decide to take.
They worked with us when we bought a resale contract last year and highly recommend them. They are sponsors here on the Dibb. Good luck with whatever you do and I'm sorry you lost your holiday, hope things work out for you |

I've rented direct to US renters via the Disboards in the past. There are also Facebook DVC rental groups where you can rent either points or confirmed reservations. 'dvc disney vacation club points rental' is one that's pretty active.
It was many years ago I rented to a US renter (around 2006/7) so would be far easier now with US accounts and Revolut.
