We found Dulles one of the best as the transit through immigration and into the departure gate was great... just enough time to grab a Starbucks to take with us! Hardly anyone else in the departure lounge that we were in.
Also entertained in Charlotte... they had a great cocktail lounge there...enough said! Not sure if it is still there, but a great airport

Hi we have done ,Atlanta,Philadelphia,Toronto from Dublin and via Toronto from London.
We took the opportunity when flying through Toronto to stay 3 days to do Niagara Falls and the city, no extra cost on flights. Generally our savings £200 plus per head and when 4 travelling it was a significant saving. Should say these all arrived in Orlando

I'm not a fan of Air Canada, uncomfortable seats, bad IFE and don't think the food was up to much either.

Another vote for Dulles here. In 2016 we changed there on our way to Boston, there were quite a lot of people on our flight who were going on to Orlando.
We were off the plane, through immigration and waiting at the gate for our domestic flight to Boston within 40 minutes of landing, it was quite astonishing!

The absolute worst by a very long shot was Chicago on our way to LA two years ago. Changing there was sheer hell on earth - it took us over 3.5 hours just to get through immigration let alone change terminal. Never again.

Your post reminded me of what occurred post immigration with hubs in the old terminal. I'd transitted via Dulles 4 weeks ahead of him, the terminal was dank, small and not pleasant. After leaving immigration I turned right towards security, the luggage carousel was on the right in this narrow hall. Porters were throwing suitcases off the conveyor onto the floor, I guess to make room for incoming aircraft luggage. Having only hand luggage I navigated stepping over cases. The corridor leaving to security thinned down even further where an officer was herding pax to one of two security x-ray machines.

When hubs got to that section after swerving many cases, he noticed a Brit family of 2 adults and 6 kids, the husband was pushing two trolleys piled high with cases. Customs officer told him he couldn't bring trolleys thro, the man asks what he was supposed to do, customs told him, 'not my problem', hubs said the kids and his wife were crying. Getting thro security took longer than immigration, by the time he made the moving lounge to the other terminal they were calling him for his flight, he had to run but luckily made it.

You will need AFAIK, the Canadian version of the ESTA, along with normal ESTA.
Air Canada don’t have a stellar reputation
