When to go in 2019?

4 possible options, interested in peoples views as to the pro's & con's of these:

First two weeks in May
Pro: Arguably the perfect weather (not too hot, dry) - much quieter (around 3/10 in terms of being busy) - relatively cheap flights
Con: Thats your holiday for the year done by mid-May - 2 weeks of school missed (around SATS)

Last two weeks in May
Pro: Great weather - been at same time in 15 & 17 and loved it - only miss 1 week of school
Con: More money than early May - reasonably busy 1st week week (6/10) but very busy 2nd week (8/10)

Last two weeks in August
Pro: School holidays so no fines or childcare to worry about - typical summer holiday 'feel' - decent 1st week (6/10) bit quiet 2nd week (3/10) for busy parks
Con: Hotter than May? - Hurricane season and wetter - More money for flights

Last two weeks in October
Pro: Arguably the perfect weather (not too hot, dry) - much quieter (around 3/10 to 5/10 in terms of being busy) - cheap flights and flexibility (i.e. 1 week before or after half term)
Con: A very long wait till we go

Star Wars land SHOULD be open for Oct but no way a guarantee and will be super busy - don't like it too busy (I am super organised for rides, getting to parks early and hitting good rides early and good use of FP)

Gut feel is August - If flights are around £250 more it will be offset by no fines. Timing wise it is good for us. Trying to determine realistic flight prices but some help on the weather would be great (especially compared to last 2 weeks in May which we are used to).

Quick edit! Just looked at moderate prices and August is around £600 more than Oct and May (£3k opposed to £2.4k) so it is looking expensive!

We've done May & October out of those times & like both.. but to be fair love any time in Orlando so..

It would definitely be one of those over August for us, but we don't have kids & don't have to travel in school holidays!

I think I'd sway more to October, the Halloween decorations are awesome, weather was great when we went too, but it was also great in May!

We're going in June next year & planning for either September or October 2020.

DH's visa expires 2020 so want to get another holiday in on that while we can.

Just to add if you did the week of half term for Halloween & in to November, you could have the Halloween & Christmas decorations!

I prefer May to October, your not as restricted by MNSSHP (which we enjoyed, but don't like having to strategically pick when we can go to MK). As you say its no guarantee that Star Wars land will be open by then, but if by a miracle it is, I don't think the parks will be as quite as they have been in past Octobers.

but taking your pros and cons into consideration I think August would better suit you

The more I think the more confused I am!

I think it is possibly more August or October for now, its just the extra cost of the accommodation that's annoying.

For August, does the weather impact much?

The parks aren’t quiet in October irrespective of whether Star Wars Land is opened by October next year. October is no longer the quiet month it was a few years ago, it’s now becoming as busy as some of the peak summer months. We were there last October and it was far from quiet.

We usually go in August (it works better for the school holidays). Last year we changed it up a bit with October as we’ve never been out there for Halloween etc and it was nice to see the Christmas decorations go up too. Next year we’re going in August again. There are pros and cons to both months unfortunately!

October weather may be perfect or still wet. Late May may be dry. August will be very hot and humid and probably wet. Don't know what she the kids are, but if more than 10 is it a good idea to take them out of school? The trouble with our summer is that the weather everywhere else isn't too good!

Just to add, we went last year end of oct/November and the weather was nice warm and dry, but the thing that got to me (might not affect all) was the lack of daylight, depends how important it is to you, it means we have booked to return in May 2019
