We took the pillows, quilts and bedding to a Church donation store on the 192. At Flamingo Crossing on moving out day there was the option to donate your unwanted things for charities to support those who were in need locally.
Would have hated to have just thrown away and many on the longer college Program may also be thankful too.
That’s really helpful, thank you x

My question for those who purchased bedding out there - what did they do with it afterwards? Is there anywhere to recycle rather than throwing away?

Thanks
Yes - similarly to Josh, Morgan donated his to Goodwill. THere is a drop-off Bin behind the Ponderosa on the 192, or there is a shop with a donation point up near Keke's at Windermere. We donated bedding, kettle, towels etc that we didn't want to keep and it's good to know they will be used by someone else in need. I've seen that some DCP leave stuff in the laundry room for others to pick from, but this isn't particularly helpful I suspect if you don't know for sure it's been donated...

Edited to add: Most airlines charge about £65 for an extra bag - it would probably be a cheaper option to buy bedding over here, vacuum pack it and take it. DS said it was a lot more expensive than he thought and spent about $120 getting everything. He reckoned the equivalent in Dunelm here would have been about £50. If he gets the Cultural Rep position at any time in the future he would definitely buy extra baggage and take it with him.
Walmart sell 7-piece bedding sets in a bag that are around $30 and include pillowcases, sheets and comforter (like a light duvet). They were fine - nothing special - but for 12 weeks perfectly acceptable.
A kettle in walmart was $14, and Morg also bought a black insulated water bottle and karabiner set to clip it onto his costume - the bottle was about £8 and the clip sets (from the "hunting & camping" section) were about $4 for 2. He reckons they were both worth having and made hydration much easier as the bottle was always available.

My DD wants to apply this the CEP but is worried that she won't be able to as she will be studying performing arts at uni and is worried it isn't "classroom based"

Definitely doesn't matter! Morgan's degree was in Drama & Theatre. He got to attend some amazing seminars with Disney Theatrical, and behind the scenes tours which really helped his understanding of lighting, staging etc etc.
Don't let it put her off!

I think this was $30 plus a pillow.

My daughter left them in a donation room at flamingo crossings.
