Hayfever advice

Currently suffering with hayfever really badly.

Im on 180mg of fexofenadine, but it's not doing anything at all, ive been on it 3 years and it worked the first summer but hasnt since. I just havent got around to tell the doctor this.

On top of this I've been taking cetirizine 10mg, once mid afternoon then once in the evening. It takes the edge off but my throat, nose and eyes are still itchy.

Loratadine does nothing for me and benadryl makes me sleepy.

Anything else I can take? I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow, albeit for something else.

Im so over this.

Im Sorry you suffer so badly, Im sure its debilitating, my step son suffers too. A remedy I've heard over the years is taking a spoon of local honey, so honey from bees local to where you live, rather than supermarket stuff. DSS had never tried it, hes a fussy eater, but if you havent it might be worth a try.
Good luck x

Dd11 is really bad this year, whereas Ive been ok for once.
Shes on piriteze 4 times a day which does nothing but she cant have anything else apart from eye drops.
We do have an air purifier which helps and an eye mask we put in the fridge helps her swollen eyes.
I remember you have a cat? Does it go outside ? As they can bring pollen in on their fur so we keep our cat away from DDs bed and the sofa she sits on.

This has apprently been one of the worse years for hayfever. I usually have the slightest sneeze at this time of year, but have been really bed. On top of what you are currently taking you can use the beconase nasal inhaler and eye drops

Our son had a injection from one of the local pharmacies. Might be worth looking into. Worked for him.

Luckily we live in Scotland so not too many occasions it's very high.

Yes, but it is bad this year. At least where we are in the central belt. I dont usually suffer, but Ive been plagued these last few days with a runny nose and annoying dry cough.

Probably preventative measures may be helpful. Shower when you come in for the day and change your clothes, keep windows closed. Try local honey next year as it can be helpful to combat allergens. A little Vaseline in the nostrils is supposed to help prevent pollen from getting in but not sure how practical that is. I do feel for you both my boys suffer terribly from hay fever and this two weeks are their optimum suffering days. Oldest ds is really suffering at the moment. I purchased some hay fever wipes and a little mist spray 1 from B&M to see if that will help. I hope you find some relief.

Were in central Scotland too and Ive really been suffering this year. Fexofenadine that was usually fab isnt doing anything this year either. Keen to hear what works for others xx

Have you tried benadryl? The one you can take 3 times a day? It works wonders for me and DD.
