Xmas market

Hi - anyone any experience of Edinburgh Xmas market? Is it any good, worth visiting etc.?

Not been in a couple years but I liked it. Some different stalls from some of the other markets. They are also doing a light project show on the castle which can be seen from Princess street which looks good.

I live in Edinburgh and it is really, really busy - so much so I never go near it! Don’t whatever you do visit at the weekend - there is long queues just to get in.

We went to the York one on Saturday and it was hell! Only been to the Edinburgh one on a Friday and it wasn’t too bad

Oh yikes, we’re heading up from Yorkshire on the first full weekend (Friday to Sunday) in December. Will be our first time at the Edinburgh market.

If you get there early on the Saturday morning hopefully it won’t be too bad. We’re heading up to Glasgow the 5th Dec from Leeds and getting the train through to Edinburgh on the 6th.

DD absolutely recommend it, especially the strudel apparently. She says to go just after sunset for the most atmosphere.
