Flying with Norwegian Airlines.

I've seen really good flight prices for next Summer, direct both ways, London to Tampa, £511 each.

Flights are with Norwegian...Did I read on here recently that they were in some kind of difficulties, and if so, have they sorted it and are people still booking with them?

Obviously we'll get insured as soon as booked and pay with CC but after a few flight 'dramas' in the past I'd rather not go through it again (although for that prices...)

We've flown with them 4 times now and have booked for this August too. There is so much speculation about budget airlines at the moment but if people don't book with them, they will ultimately fail and we'll only be left with the expensive ones! Just use a credit card to protect yourself.

Their loan repayment dates have been rearranged for two years so you should be OK

Their loan repayment has been rescheduled, they were in profit in their last financial statement and they have returned most of their wet lease aircraft so trying hard to keep the cash flow positive - so far, so good.

Once they have the 737 max & dreamliner issues fully resolved, they will be able to re-focus on growth again.

It's more likely they'd be bought out than go bust to be honest.

Then why were they selling more shares to desperately raise money only weeks after stating they made a profit. A profit that was made during their most busy quarter.
Their loan were extended, but they still make stupidly high payments to all their debt which will be higher than their income over the next 2 quiet quarters.
They have already admitted that next year is going to be tough if fuel prices rise as they havent any money to hedge fuel prices now while they are low.

Anyone travelling with them should still be aware that most travel insurance companies will not cover them for airline failure as they are 'at risk'.
A credit card covers your airline payment, but not the rest of your holiday, tickets, hotels etc if the airline go bust. So if the airline went under a few days before you traveled, you could end up having to pay out for a costly flight, or loose the cost of your tickets and hotels.

And who will buy Norwegian now as they moved all their assets to a side company or sold them and leased back. Who bought Thomas Cook, Monarch, Air Berlin or Wow. Why would anyone buy Norwegian, when any other airline knows that when they fail the passengers will just come and rebook with them.
