Dr doom fearfall
Is this like the kind of drop in tower of terror or more of a severe drop - the tot sort of bounces gently at the bottom of the drop but I’ve been in drop rides that pretty much stop and stop
Is this like that?!? |

It’s more of a launch tower than a drop tower.
It launches you to the top at a high speed, then there’s a free fall drop about half the length of the tower. Then it’s gently rises you up and down for a bit. All the scary is in that first launch tho.

All 4 of us were severely disappointed at this ride, we didn't feel the launch was that fast & the gentle bobbing up & down afterwards was really poor. Nowhere near as exciting as ToT.

We find TOT very mild, enjoyable but not remotely exciting or scary, you can’t see where you are going, it doesn't even raise a heart beat. Dr Doom is not contained like TOT, there are a couple of rides we haven’t plucked up the courage for yet, Dr Doom is one of them. I didn’t bat an eyelid about TOT, Dr Doom we have sat and watched for a while and concluded it is too extreme for us.

It’s very tame.
I went in the claw tower (forgot it’s full name) at Busch and that was much better, in fact quite hairy. It goes up much higher, then at the top tips all the seats forward so you feel like you are falling out and praying to God the shoulder supports hold up- definitely not for people scared of heights! My son doesn’t like heights and he had no probs with the Dr Doom one. The Busch one, no chance.

Well we went on - twice in a row! Was absolutely fine and pretty enjoyable afterall. Agree it’s very much a launch up and gently come down. We prefer the Tot though for the theming and build up of suspense
