All depends when you intend to use the pool, which way the pool is facing and on the individual person using the pool.
I would say yes for October.
We go September and do not have pool heat but have on some occasions thought we should of had it.
Early morning dips can be chilly in the water even though it is warm.

You need to weigh up the cost against possible usage.
How much do you intend to use the pool ? If like some families who may spend days around the pool with kids jumping in and out then it would be well worth the extra.

If you are only intending to take a dip when and if you feel like it then it would be a waste of cash.

Also remember when the pool heat is turned on it does not instantly heat your pool so if it has not been used by previous guests your pool may still feel like there is no heat for about 2 days.

Thanks for replies. I have two young children who will be in every evening. For the sake of £200 for the two weeks it will be worth it. Would hate it to be too cold and not be able to use it.

The other option might be to have it put on when you are out there, so you can see whether or not you want it heated. The MC can switch it on for a small admin fee. Takes around 24 hours to warm up the pool typically but maybe worth considering.

We use our pool a lot in October, there's nothing like a 5am (first day) or 7am (rest of the holidays) dip before breakfast by the pool.

So heating is a must for us.

We rent a villa as a couple partly for space (we love having space to spread out), partly for the kitchen but mainly for the pool and it would be wasted if not heated in October,

We had ours heated in June - It was bliss after a day in the parks and late evening dipping in. Our pool was the perfect Temp and as of that we used this a lot
