DH is a big Dads Army fan, thinking of going here, has anyone else been?

Haven't been there but if your DH is a fan & your over Norfolk way Google Poppylands at Horsey (comes up as Great Yarmouth) it takes you to their face book page or check it out on YouTube. Its amazing its like being in an episode of Dads Army yourself. The food is fantastic there, you eat in the naafi & everything is named representing 1940. Some Episodes of DA were filmed locally & the writers if it had some input too. We are booked in for breakfast there next week.

Brought a walking Tour for my DH for his 70th Birthday last year , but as it was cancelled it was rebooked for this coming weekend but due to the Indian Variant spreading , requested to change to later in the year or even transfer to next year . We were also booked to stay in the Bell Hotel at Thetford which the actors stayed while filming Dads Army . The museum got good reviews on Tripadvisor .

I know its a very small museum, run by volunteers, i do hope that it manages to stay open. X

I hope your dad has a lovely trip. For fathers day i got DH a print and some bits from the ahop, which came very promptly.

I really like the quirky little museums, it would be sad to see them go. X

Dont panic, dont panic 😂

Some of the new DA film was filmed in and around Bridlington. There is/was a walking tour of the locations used - the film was dire though, and I'm not sure that the true Dad's Army fans acknowledge it's existence!

Thanks for the suggestions! We travelling up from west country. Stopping in Thetford for 2 nights. I dont think museum will be open though - as only open saturdays at moment. We visiting family but staying mainly in Norwich.
At this rate we will have to go back again too!
