I did email but being from Northern Ireland I'm not expecting a reply from my MP as they're all too busy fighting amongst each other..again.

Covid isn't really a thing over here at the minute. Isn't it strange that when the media have other things to report on you would hardly even know Covid existed.

In the Telegraph now:

Tui has announced that it has joined Virgin Atlantic and British Airways' parent company IAG in supporting legal action against the Government's Covid-19 travel restrictions.

The UK's largest travel company today became the latest industry body to join a legal challenge against the Government, which was launched last week by Ryanair and Manchester Airports Group.

Speaking at the Travel Matters conference organised by Abta, Andrew Flintham, the managing director of Tui, said: "We must understand the criteria we are all working towards so we can pre-empt when countries may move into different categories and help our customers with that challenge, and we must understand how the framework is being applied."

Mark Tanzer, the chief executive of Abta, had previously told the conference that the organisation is looking into whether legal action is "an avenue that we can pursue" and issued a "heartfelt plea for political change" in regards to international travel restrictions.

The legal bid is asking for the Government to be more transparent in how it determines which countries are on the green, amber and red lists under the current traffic light system.

Get Tweeting if you can - tag BoJo and Shapps, ask if enough is being done to establish a UK-US corridor for the vaccinated. #traveldayofaction

It must be a focused campaign aimed at more people flying again.
Watching Mr Tanzer of ABTA he appears to be suggesting vaccinated passengers have preferential treatment.
This is never going to fly as it is discriminatory.

Passengers should be allowed to fly if they have required proof of vaccination, recovery, or testing negative within the stipulated time.

Vaccinated people will spread less of the disease and they will want to be careful for the time being. Tests can be wrong. That's the way they may see it. The government will not care if you are offended. If this is the way the government go, that's the way it goes. Whatever they choose they need to do it now for the sake of saving jobs.

Finally the news channels are reporting on the dire state of the travel industry by focusing on the "Travel day of action -June 23rd".

A huge well done to every single person who has acted today both in person and by deed to support the industry as a whole. THANK YOU.
