Latest news from Virgin Atlantic

"As a result of ongoing travel restrictions between the UK and US, we have pushed back the restart of some transatlantic flights to early August, including our London Heathrow services to Orlando, Seattle, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Manchester to Orlando, Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York-JFK.

Cancellations
Effective until & including
USA LHR-MCO 5 August
MAN-MCO 5 August
MAN-LAX 5 August
LHR-SEA 5 August
MAN-ATL 9 August
MAN-JFK 9 August
LHR-LAS 5 August
LHR-SFO 7 August"

I had previously posted this at the time I opened the thread but Virgin then started to change the scheduled dates and then went totally silent on any information. Rather than give rumours I chose not to post any further details until confirmation came from Virgin themselves and sadly that arrived this morning.

So sorry for everyone involved.

They'll be indirect. Virgin have been operating daily flights to various US hubs throughout and/or they'll be an indirect Delta codeshare.

This information from Virgin will be updated on Global Distrobution Systems on Saturday 26th - so possibly expect booking agents to be slightly delayed with updates.

Just received cancellation email from Virgin for our flight on 30th July. Obviously our inbound flight at the moment is still down as running, but I assume I can just get a full refund for both now?

Not looking good for borders opening. Assuming they wouldn't be cancelling if they knew something 😏

me too - the dreaded email has arrived...
Now we have to decide if their voucher is of any use at all - not sure on a reward flight booking if it is the right thing to do...
