Hidden gem New York cheap eats please.
Off to NYork in September with the kids (18&21). I'd love your tips for hidden gems cheap eats...whether its pizza slices, noodles or street food...I love a good food recommendation!

We went to an Irish bar called Scallywags on 9th Avenue. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly. I believe they have live music most evenings as well, but we were too early for that the night we went.
It was the best food and the cheapest we paid during our NYC stay.

Breakfast or lunch at Angela's Deli on 6th and 59th 'ish - right up near central park. Great pancakes and where the locals eat.
Joe's pizza in Greenwich village does delish pizza by the slice for $2.75 - a New York institution. |

We found some fab delis by going down the cross streets. The only name I can remember is Cranberry Cafe on 45th St, though.
Schnippers is good, as well, there's a few around midtown area. /Mo |

Breakfast pancake stack or huge pastrami sandwich from Carnegie Deli. Amazing bagels and red velvet cake from Juniors at Grand Central station. Ballfields cafe Central Park nothing flash but nice toastie and coffee while people watching. Grab a picnic from whole foods in the Time Warner and sit and eat in Central Park.

Bravo pizza, it's on east 42nd right round corner from the library. Lots of office workers are there, lots of selection.
