OMG, DDP panic!

Have just booked a stay at Disney for next year with DDP and been having a look at the menus... then it dawned on me, our kids (who will be 13 and 12 by then) are very fussy and don't like the food on the children's menus.

Would they be able to choose food NOT from the children's' menus? Just off the main menu?

Yes they can, at Disney for meal purposes, ages 10 and over are classed as an 'adult' so they can have any food off the adult menu at that location.

As they're aged 10! they get the adult plan anyway so are free to choose whatever they want. Panic over

At that age they're 'Disney adults' anyway - you will have paid adult ticket prices for them.

Plus, you're in the US, where the customer is king.

If you want fries instead of mash, sauce on the side, etc etc ... just ask.

As others have said, an adult ticket equals an adult DDP so they can order from the adult menu (or child menu if they wish)
My youngest will be 7 next year and a very fussy eater, I am considering getting him an adult ticket so that he can have more options. He can’t eat tomatoes or any fruit, doesn’t like chicken nuggets, bread (so hot dog & burgers are a waste) or mac & cheese so there is not much on the kids menu for him 😪

Even if there's somewhere you want to go but you can't see anything they would like I'd still go ahead and discuss with your server what they like/dislike, most Disney restaurants have chicken tenders or something 'plain' as back up just not on the menu!
