I didn't know this was a thing. We do run our freezer down a few times a year over the poor times.

Honestly, I chuck things out when the freezer breaks

We’ve had meat in ours for way longer than that. Unless it’s got freezer burn we tend to give it a try

6 months at the most, dh brought out some ice burnt burgers that were a year old. I binned them and he got annoyed lol!

We normally just freeze and either eat at some point or if it's freezer burnt then just bin it..

We do however go through a period every couple of years I've noticed were money is tight and we pretty much eat everything until our freezer is empty
