Hi we have done it in the past and it was fine but it was quite a few years ago so wouldn't want to comment on facilities on the planes. We were looking to do that route for next year but have ended up doing NCL- LND- Tampa with BA as found a good price a few weeks ago before TC folded.

AMS-MCO will be on Delta so will be everything you'd expect... free drinks, food, seat back TV etc.

It will be KLM to Amsterdam. It’s. Short flight so no TVs. But it’s fine.
Schipol is a nice airport. Plenty of shops and restaurants. And delta are a good airline. I preferred the flight to Virgin to be honest. |

Changing flights in Amsterdam is easy and 3 hours is plenty of time.

Like you I was apprehensive when we did the same route. It was a pleasant surprise , really couldn't fault any aspect of the flights at all.

We're doing similar next year but starting in Leeds rather than Newcastle. Actually looking forward to flying Delta as I've heard very good things.
Earlier this year we went to Naples (Italy) via Amsterdam and thought Schipol airport was fabulous so looking forward to doing that again and the flight from Leeds to Amsterdam is only an hour - just like going to Heathrow so I think it will work out really well for us. |

If you do go from Newcastle you might be able to book the new lounge that was just announced.

We did similar in September only our flight was Inverness - Amsterdam.
Flight to Amsterdam will be with KLM. Its a short flight, by the time they come round with your free drink and sandwich is it basically time to land. No tvs but he flight is so short it really isnt needed. 3hrs transfer time is more than enough and Schipol is such a nice airport with plenty of shops and places to eat the time will fly by. Amsterdam - Orlando will be operated by Delta who we found to be great. Seat back tvs with the usual entertainment and free food/drinks. We found the staff to be friendly and couldnt fault the service. We had no issues on the outward or return jouneys and I think going via amsterdam is a great option |
