Just name one example in the last 15+ years that I've taken a thread off topic.

Oh yes that one back in July 2006 ………………

The best thing about this thread is it has highlighted some very passionate villa owners with some lovely villa's which I have not seen before! Welcome to my shortlist

For me, it’s mainly because there’s only 3 of us, and while we would prefer 3 bedrooms, I can’t justify the cost in my head for just 3 of us. We generally stay in 2 bedroom apartments or last year a 2 bedroom townhouse (that had the bedrooms upstairs,) because I couldn’t get the apartment I wanted.

I’m open to trying a villa, but for me to justify it I think we’d have to go in a group. Some of them look amazing, as I’ve been looking at them today, but it’s purely that we are a family of 3.

I find the villas are cheaper than the apartment suites (unless you mean a different type not part of a hotel)

They’re not part of a hotel. Having been ex-timeshare, we still have our membership for the exchange company, which means we can still access the getaways. This is good for us, as I can generally get a 2 bedroom apartment/townhouse quite cheap. Last year 2 weeks in the townhouse only cost us £750, but I do think about how having the extra space and a private pool would be so nice.

Fantastic thread and great to see so many Dibb Villa owners being able to share their villas and highlight just how nice they are.

We love staying in a Villa , but do look long and hard before we book.
Biggest things that put me off - to answer OP

A booking calendar with no bookings showing
And a villa with no lanai - not going to get booked without that

Apart from that - we just look for somewhere that looks habitable and has some up to date photos to prove we will recognise that place when we walk in!
Have stayed in some fantastic villas

This has been an amazing thread to follow, it is interesting to see what works well for one family can have the exact opposite affect on others.

We hope our villa meets the needs of most of our guests, but it is hard to be perfect villa to all
