It was the days you did two weeks learning, followed by 13 weeks on the ward. Advantage was you were employed as well. However we always knew the unallocated ward time was alway COE. I started as a NA on a locked psychiatric ward. After training my first day staff nurse job was on the same locked psychiatic ward with many of the same patients. They didn't see my qualifiction as a reason to treat me differently!

Loved my training we did 6 weeks PTS before we were let loose. I was also a midwife for about 16 years in the middle of my career. Been luckily enough to work with inspiring leaders who have given me a number of opportunities and experiences.
