The only time I get a good blow dry is when I go to the salon. I wouldn’t have it done if you don’t like it - you are the customer and are paying after all!

I'd be asking her how she defines "properly" as surely meeting customer's wishes should come into that? Sounds like a snotty little madam if that's how she's worded it!
It's interesting reading this thread, I don't mind how my hairdresser dries mine, I rarely do more than towel dry my own, so it makes a nice change, but as long as I can remember, and over multiple stylists, they always do a lot of the cutting/layering/thinning on mine after they've dried it. I have got her trained not to bother with hairspray when she's finished though, and she knows I'm a hair toucher - in fact, the first thing I do once she's finished is run my fingers through it! - so that might help, I don't know? /Mo |

No! My hair is naturally wavy. When my hair dresser finishes my hair she uses the Dyson air wrap which leaves my hair curly but flat (if that makes sense).
I'd rather she offered a wet cut only option but she doesn't. To be honest, I think it's time for a new hairdresser as she just seems to cut how she wants too. Not what I've asked for. It's a bit difficult though as she has a child in my son's year so I see her at school. |

Well speaking from the other side of the chair I’m glad at least some of you are happy with how your hair is styled. Must admit I’d be horrified to learn that my clients were going home to rewash and style their hair. I do offer just a wet cut though and often have ladies go without a blow dry if I’ve squeezed in their colour for them and told them I can colour and cut but not dry!

I love my hair after my hairdresser has blow dried it. She’s absolutely brilliant, my hair is really thick, long and curly. Depending on how I’m feeling she’ll blow it poker straight, or with a bit of volume or a full on curly blow. There’s no way I can blow dry mine the way she does. It takes me ages and then I have to use straighteners.

I'm always happy with my blow dry but what puzzles me is when they dry and straighten my very curly hair and then use tongs to curl it. They could save themselves so much time.
