Hidden Gem recommendations
Hi All,
We are staying in a villa in October in Town Centre resort. We have some ADR's planned, but we will mainly be eating offsite. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (4 and 6) I have a list of restaurants that we already love from previous trips. And I have a few to try this time, Teak Neighbourhood Grill, 4Rivers Smokehouse... But I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for restaurants that they feel are hidden gems? 4Rivers and Teak Grill were both off of recommendations from here, we never would have found them otherwise as we only drive around the main roads. So i'd love to hear of any that are good that aren't so obvious as Chilli's, Olive Garden etc. |

We went to Ovation Bistro last year on the U.S. 27... That was a recommendation from on this site and we had a great meal, very reasonably priced too.
We love Teak, it's a must do every time for us. I want to go to Yellow dog Eats this time, another recommendation from here, but not been yet.

We also visited Ovation twice in Feb/March following a recommendation on here.
Joan had steak both times and enjoyed. One trip I had tilapia which was very nice but the second time I tried the chicken parmesan. Not so great as the crumb was a bit dry and could have done with a sauce. My fault maybe for a wrong choice. We will certainly revisit in Nov/Dec. It's not too far from Highgate. Mick

Thanks for the recommendation, I shall add it to our list.
Good to hear another positive about Teak. I am really looking forward to going there. Is it wrong that I want to try the donut burger? Yellow Dog Eats looks interesting too. Its definitely going on our list, but it might be a bit too far out for us. That's good to know that you enjoyed it too. I agree Chicken Parmesan needs a sauce generally. It looks like it is pretty close to where we are staying so we may give it a try. That whole area of Orlando is new to us, as we have always stayed on either International Drive or the 192. |

Not a cheap option, but I would recommend Bonefish Grill (on the 192, west of Disney). We really enjoy our meals there.

It's at Disney springs but we had an excellent meal at Splitsville and didn't feel it was very expensive (most expensive item on menu was $25)

We like Celebration Town Tavern for lunch before heading back to the airport. It was recommended to us by geoffa.
