I work every election counting. Although our borough isn’t counting until Sunday afternoon/evening. Apparently we have to stay in the count room this year until 9pm which is when the vote closes in Europe.

Nope - but I will be voting , so a big thank you to you all for being there!
My daughter will have her first ever voting experience (alongside taking an A' level English paper!), an exciting day for us, cannot wait for her to take part in yet another milestone of life - able to vote, to contribute to the democratic process. She has researched the candidates and the D'Hondt method with the fervour of a new teenage voter, which has, to be honest, enthused us old timers too. Walking there together as a family - can't wait. |

I'm sure the length of the day is fixed by the election and representation act and has nothing to do with turnout.
It will be a fifteen hour day in the polling station (plus setup and close down) regardless if how many people turn up to vote. Whilst it might be a low turnout, I think it might be bigger than any previous European election as people rush to have their say in "the second referendum" |

OH always does this.
It’s quite a nice little bonus but he does get very bored. He doesn’t count. He just has to sit there all day and then take the box to wherever it’s counted.

Remember you may be in someone's "forever memories" - I still remember my feeling of pride going to vote for the first time.
The (very stern looking) man behind the desk smiled when I said it was my first time voting and gave me a brand new pencil to vote with. Made my day into a cherished memory... (from a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time ago) |

I really hope people do turn up and vote. Fingers crossed there will be a better turn out than you think.

Postal vote done and dusted. Seemed strange seeing Tommy Robinson's name on the list
