Mobile DS and desil

DS went to our local independent garage the other night and it was some new guy working. DS put £30 of desil into his car and went into pay. The new guy said becouse it was after 5pm the garage charges double as it has to cover its cost of opening later (they are open to 6pm) and said to ds that will be £60.

Is this a thing? I always thought you paid the price at the pump.

Thanks Dibbers

He’s pulling a fast one...never heard that before! You pay the price at the pump.

Did he get a receipt?

That's what I thought. Not sure if he got a receipt but ds refused to pay the £60 and paid £30 by card.

The garage is used by a lot of tourists and I wouldn't like to think they were getting scammed.

Do you know the owner? Maybe ask him if it’s the norm? Like you said...tourists will be getting ripped off as they won’t know any difference. 🤬

Yeah I know the owner, I am in two minds to speak to him about it or keep my nose out. I just don't want to see people getting done out of money.

£30 for garage £30 for him I think! Wonder how many times he's got away with that.
Report to Trafing Standards think they'll be very pleased to hear about this.

Yes, I am pretty sure you can. I was going to suggest reporting to them. What an absolute chancer he is! Glad your son didn’t fall for it.
